How should I choose blinds?

I have just fitted a series of Roman
blinds in our design show kitchen at home in Rutland. You are welcome to come
and see them and to see how we work with clients to design rooms to enhance
your home and your lifestyle.

We are experts at interpreting your
ideas and ensuring any room we design reflects how you live and enhances your
home. We will hold your hand at each stage and make recommendations for the
best look to create the style you are looking for. We work with you to create
mood boards for each room and create a handpicked selection of paint colours,
fabrics and wallpapers as well as furniture and lighting ideas

There is an array of different window
treatments to choose from and we will help you make a selection which will work
for you.

Roller Blinds

A simple practical solution to
diffusing light. They are usually made from stiffened fabric and operated by a
spring mechanism or beaded side control.

Roman Blinds

Like the ones we have designed and
made for our kitchen, these are a more decorative option which from soft pleats
when raised but hand flat against the window when lowered. The pleats are
usually kept in place with rods or slats and a cord and cleat system to tie
them off or chain operation as a side control lowers and raises them.

Venetian blinds

These are usually made from wood or
metal and come in varying widths of horizontal slats which can be tilted,
raised and lowered. In bathrooms where humidity is high metal ones are perhaps
best.

Vertical Blinds

These blinds are useful for floor to
ceiling windows. They are made from vertical slats of material and can be
tilted, or drawn right back with a weighted cord control.

Pleated Blinds

Pleated blinds are a modern invention
and offer a more modern look then venetians blinds. They fold neatly away but
when drawn given amazing light control.

Panel Blinds

Inspired by Japanese screens these
flat panels of fabric or woven materials hand neatly inside the window. They
are hung from a head rail and stack neatly behind each other when open. They
are ideal for patio doors and make good room dividers.
